Emote Records: Home

Emote Records was founded in 2001 by singer/songwriter, Gregory Douglass. Emote Records headquarters is nestled in the humble Green Mountains of Burlington, Vermont where it was established. Douglass independently formed the label in conjunction with his third studio release, "Teeter" and has since produced six full-length, independent titles under the label.

26-year old Douglass has shared the stage with They Might Be Giants, India Arie, Michelle Branch & Jason Mraz to name a few, and his evocative amalgamation of pop/rock has been compared to Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley & Rufus Wainwright. Like most if his comparisons, Douglass’ career is dominantly fueled by the devotion of his fans; the type of dedication that will last a lifetime as they continue to finance his records through pre-orders and invite him into their homes for house concerts. Douglass has produced legions of dedicated fans around the globe through grassroots promotion, passionate solo performances, and consistent national touring, amounting to hundreds of venues, colleges & house concerts each year.

In the ever-changing industry we call music, Emote Records is one of many independent labels helping to shape the future of independent music. We believe that true artistic freedom within the music business will prevail and that honest music speaks for itself . . .
